Cookies Policy
Last updated 2026-08-29.
We keep cookie use to a minimum. Here's everything this site stores in your browser:
Strictly necessary
- Theme preference (local storage, not a cookie): remembers whether you've chosen light, dark, or the site's default appearance. No expiry, cleared if you clear your browser's site data.
- Account login (local storage, not a cookie): keeps you signed in to your MallorcaData account between visits, so your saved reports and lookups are there when you come back. Only set once you actually log in or set a password.
- Cookie consent choice (local storage, not a cookie): remembers whether you've accepted or dismissed the cookie banner, so it doesn't ask again every visit.
- Admin session (cookie): only set if you log into the internal admin panel; keeps you signed in. Not set for ordinary visitors.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4), which sets its own cookies to distinguish visitors and measure aggregate site usage: pages viewed, rough traffic sources, that kind of thing. It doesn't identify you by name. It only loads once you accept the cookie banner; if you dismiss it instead, Analytics stays off and we'll ask again on your next visit. You can also opt out site-wide using a browser extension like Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or block third-party cookies in your browser settings.
What we don't use
No advertising or retargeting cookies, no cross-site tracking, no cookie-based paywalls.
Controlling cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking analytics cookies won't affect your ability to use the site's tools; blocking the admin session cookie will prevent staff from staying logged into the admin panel, which is expected.
